Related Services About the Program Relationships may feel more complex when differences in attention, organisation, or emotional regulation are part of daily life. The ADHD Couples Series offers a structured setting for couples to learn about these patterns together and to explore how ADHD may influence communication, routines, and day-to-day interactions. The series is facilitated by counsellor Greer Alexandra, a qualified counsellor, sexual health educator, and experienced trainer in the mental health field. Greer brings a thoughtful and informed approach to supporting couples as they consider how ADHD characteristics may relate to their relationship dynamics. Her work is grounded in evidence-based practice and delivered within a respectful, inclusive learning environment. The program is held on Thursday or Friday evenings and is available in two formats: a small-group series (up to three couples) or an individual format (one couple). Both follow a four-week curriculum that incorporates education, guided discussion, and practical exercises. Across the four weeks, couples examine topics such as attention and executive functioning, communication patterns, emotional responses, shared responsibilities, and the role ADHD may play in daily life. Sessions blend information with opportunities for reflection, allowing couples to consider how these themes relate to their own circumstances. This series has been developed with senior consultation from Dr Emilie Staehr, GP with advanced training in mental health, and Aaron Neaves, Clinical Psychologist and Director of May Health, to support alignment with current clinical understanding. Over four weeks, couples are guided through structured discussions and learning activities that support awareness and shared understanding. Sessions integrate professional education, practical frameworks, and insights informed by lived experience. Topics include the ways ADHD traits may relate to relationship roles, emotional responses, communication patterns, conflict navigation, and approaches to intimacy. The program encourages reflection and provides opportunities to consider strategies that may be relevant to each couple’s circumstances. All participants receive handouts and reflection worksheets to support learning and facilitate discussion between sessions.
