Mental Health General Practitioners

May Medical provides mental health care delivered by a General Practitioner with further professional development in psychological medicine. The service focuses on evidence-based approaches within a supportive, patient-centred environment. Many people wait years before seeking assistance, and personal, social, or practical factors can make access difficult. May Medical aims to reduce these barriers by offering a purpose-designed setting and appointments that allow the time needed for thoughtful and comprehensive consultations.

Services include:

• Initial and ongoing consultations focused on mental health

• Creation and review of mental health treatment plans

• Prescribing medications, including for ADHD

• Focused Psychological Strategies and other talk-based interventions

These interventions are incorporated within individualised treatment plans that draw on both medical and psychological perspectives.
