Adult ADHD Group Treatment Program

About the Program

Being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult can bring a mix of clarity, relief, and uncertainty. This multidisciplinary group treatment program is specifically designed to support adults in the early stages of understanding their diagnosis. It helps you make sense of your experiences, build confidence, and begin creating a life that works with your brain. With a balance of clinical expertise, peer connection, and lived experience, each session helps turn understanding into action.

The 8-week group program is offered both in person (North Adelaide) and online (for interstate and rural participants). It focuses on four core areas: psychology, medicine, dietetics, and relationships. Delivered in a supportive small-group format, it provides evidence-based education, therapeutic strategies, and practical tools to support daily life. In-person groups are limited to six participants; online groups allow up to ten, maintaining a strong focus on individual support and group connection.

The program is led by Dr Emilie Staehr, an experienced GP with over 15 years of clinical ADHD expertise and a lifetime of lived experience. Drawing on the Biopsychosocial–Spiritual–Cultural model, she has designed the program to reflect the complexity of ADHD in real life—not just textbook symptoms, but the way it affects identity, routines, relationships, and wellbeing.

At May Health, we understand that ADHD support needs to be both structured and flexible. This program meets you where you are—online or in person—and equips you with what’s most useful, so you can move forward with clarity, connection, and confidence.

Program Overview

This program is designed to support adults who are newly diagnosed with ADHD in the early stages of understanding and integration. Over eight weeks, participants are guided through the process of making sense of their diagnosis—what it means, how it affects their daily life, and how to move forward with greater clarity and self-direction.

Each module blends expert education, multidisciplinary care, and lived experience. Topics include ADHD and executive functioning, medication and treatment options, sleep, time management, eating behaviours, emotional regulation, and relationships. The format supports both learning and reflection, helping participants begin to apply insights in meaningful, real-world ways.

All participants receive a curated Practical Companion and worksheet pack, developed by Dr Emilie Staehr to support integration between sessions. A selection of these materials is shown below.
